Ubisoft: “3DS Software Sales Spike Eight Fold Since Price Cut”

According to Ubisoft’s European marketing and sales director Geoffrey Sardin, consumer interest in the company’s 3DS games have risen sharply post hardware price cut in the region. Sardin told that Ubisoft is “very pleased”  by the increase of sales. Sales of Ubisoft 3DS software in Germany alone jumped 700%, with other regions jumping 800%.

Since the 3DS’ release in Europe there have been a total of five Ubisoft games available, including Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Shadow Wars, and Splinter Cell 3D. Sardin didn’t specify which of the company’s titles are selling the most as of the price cut.

Software sales in Japan have also received a healthy boost since the systematic 3DS price cut. Star Fox 64 3D and The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D re-entered the top 20 chart last week in Japan after being off the radar for quite some time.
