3DS second analog stick confirmed in Famitsu

Now, Nintendo have not yet officially revealed whether or not this is indeed real, but the latest issue of Famitsu seems to confirm that the 3DS will indeed be getting an attachment allowing for a second circle analog pad.

Here’s how the peripheral is supposedly described as in Famitsu…

– Peripheral placed towards the right of the ABXY buttons
– Attachment has an R2 button
– This means the 3DS will have L1, R1, and R2 buttons, but not L2
– Peripheral apparently clips onto the whole 3DS (like a charger)
– Juts out 1cm at left, 2-3cm at right, 2cm at bottom, 2-3cm in thickness

Thia could be real, and perhaps the reason several games such as Metal Gear Solid 3D were delayed until next year was in order to make use of this new peripheral. One interesting thing we would like to mention is that the device looks quite thick as seen in the photos to the left of the image above. We are guessing that this will also act as a battery extension (like the Nyko battery pack) in order to fix one of the other most criticised 3DS features – the battery life.
