Gearbox on Wii U: “It’s the best controller for first person shooters” & there is “no doubt” Wii U version of Aliens game will be best looking console version

Randy Pitchford, vice president at Gearbox Software (the guys behind such games as Borderlands) has been very positive of the Wii U in recent times.

In his latest interview with Gamespot, he states that the Wii U’s tablet controller is “the best controller for hardcore first person shooters”. He also states that Gearbox has “no doubt” that the Wii U version of Aliens: Colonial Marines will be the best looking console version of the game, brushing aside rumours that stated the Wii U was less powerful than the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360.

Furthermore, he assures that “the Wii U is a next generation system” and he shares that “we [Gearbox] are very excited about it”.

Great news. Gearbox seems to be praising the Wii U immensely. Perhaps they are working behind the scenes with Nintendo on something?

Guess we’ll just have to wait and see at E3 but I’m certainly interested in seeing what Gearbox comes up with on Wii U. Borderlands 2 on Wii U? Yes please.
